On this page and in the sidebar throughout the rest of our website we have a dedicated space for video art and short films. We feature up to five at any one time which are randomised with every refresh or new page click. We also promote each new video with a blog post, meaning this is a great platform to showcase work.
If you would like a chance to see your video on Empty Shop.org please email a link to the film with a short statement about the work. The video needs to already be uploaded to a video networking site such as YouTube or Vimeo in order for it to work on our site.
Send all submissions, along with your name, links and relevant information, to exhibitions@emptyshop.org. We change the videos every month and submitting does not guarantee success. All video will go through a selection process and you will be notified if you have been chosen.

Title: Seance
Artist: Toby Lloyd and Steven Walker
About: A collaboration between Toby Lloyd and Steven Walker. The piece came from a common interest in obsolete technology and similar memories of watching VHS cassettes in their youth.
They have taken several of the manufacturers and production company logo motion graphics from teh beginnings of 80’s and early 90’s films and layered the audio/visuals over the top of each other so that they fight for supremacy and ultimately become lost in a cacophony of noise, colour and nostalgia of the memory of watching these films the first time around.

Artist: Cat Salkeld
About: A smudge and click piece, with some pixillation, using charcoal and melted wax crayons. The piece resembles decay and goes through the movement of life and death, of both the materials and the subjects within the piece.
