Exciting news, we are opening up Empty Shop HQ to a broader range of events so you can now book the space as a gig venue as well as the usual ‘anything creative you can think of’. Oh, and we also have a licenced bar too – with that we’ll charge a little more than the usual £1 donation (don’t worry, still very good prices) but we’ll make sure it’s a really nice range of drinks.
A few examples of what you can do:
Gigs
Exhibitions
Plays/Theatrical productions
Talks
Screenings
Workshops
Meetings
This is all in an effort to keep the building as a cultural hub for Durham City; we are coming close to the end of our initial agreement and in order to continue we would like to make it truly sustainable. We think it would be a huge back-step for the City to lose it’s only contemporary arts venue/hub so help us keep the HQ going by coming to stuff, hosting stuff and supporting stuff – let’s try and keep Durham moving forward.
Lumiere 2011 – Nothing to do with us but a great example of Durham evolving culturally
We will start rolling out a programme of events from the end of September/beginning of October. Keep your eyes peeled on the site as it should get a whole lot busier over the coming months and we will being adding an events calendar to keep things in order.
If you would like to host an event please get in touch – carlo@emptyshop.org
